Dear Parent:
Planning for your childs college education is at once both an exciting and stressful process. With thousands of colleges to choose from and so much conflicting information about what it takes to get into the right schools, even the most dedicated and concerned parent can feel overwhelmed. You want the best for your child, but you may not even know how to begin preparing for the competitive and complex process that lies ahead. |

| Getting into the right college is a matter of early planning and strategic positioning. First, I will provide you with the information you need to understand how the admissions process works. As a college selection consultant to parents and students, I can shed light on this widely misunderstood process and provide straightforward answers to your questions. I make numerous on campus visitations and inspections each year and sit down with admission directors and counselors to best understand the current trends in the selection process. By understanding the process, you will begin to feel more in control. |

| Next, I work with your family to implement short- and long-term strategies for college admissions success. Although your child wont start filling out applications until senior year, the process really begins in the freshman year of high school, and many of the academic and extracurricular choices that your child makes can potentially influence the outcome. In order to keep doors to academic opportunity open, I work with each student to create a personalized academic and extracurricular plan for each year of high school. Because of the early and thoughtful planning that our students do, their applications tend to reflect a degree of maturity, focus, and promise that helps them stand out in the applicant pool. I can take them one step further by providing invaluable logistical and strategic advice with every element of the application, including internships, essays, interviews, recommendations, and the submission of supplementary materials. |

| While applying to college involves many personal and family decisions, my clients have recognized the benefits of having this help and mentor their children through this process. The application process occurs at a time when students are taking their first steps towards independence, and it is intensely personal. It requires students to reflect, perhaps for the first time in their lives, on their strengths, personalities, goals, and values. To reach their potential, students need not only to deal with these issues for themselves but also to be able to communicate their thoughts effectively to the admissions committee and interviewers. Because of my years in youth and college ministry, I am able to take a relaxed and friendly yet disciplined approach, I can serve as mentor, role model, and confidant, not just strategic advisor. |
